We, people of Jewish origin in Germany, came together in our commitment to a just peace in the Middle East. We know, from our ancestors, the degradation and the pain of systematic marginalisation and subjection to state violence. No group of people should be allowed to dominate another and no human being is above another. All people are born equal.
Our association with the name “Jewish Voice for Just Peace in the Middle East - EJJP” Deutschland e. V. was founded in Berlin in 2003 and became a non-profit association in 2007. It is an independent association, initiated as the German section of the umbrella organisation "European Jews for a Just Peace" (EJJP) founded in Amsterdam in 2002.
We join with Jews in Europe and globally in asserting that the Israeli colonisation and occupation of Palestine and the oppression Palestinian people is not carried in the name and in the interest of Jews worldwide. Not in our name!
The Jewish Voice condemns the systematic disenfranchisement of Palestinians since 1948, the occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since 1967, the blockade of the Gaza Strip and the denial of the Right of Return for Palestinian refugees, as an unacceptable violation of the Charter of the United Nations, a violation against international law and against principles of rights and justice. The day-to-day practice of colonisation brings nothing but death and destruction for the Palestinians and undermines the hope for a peaceful and just future for all people in the region.
Our work addresses the German public and government. We call on the German government to use its economic and political influence for justice and peace in the Middle East. We are determined to stand on the side of the oppressed against all forms of domination and oppression.
Not in our name!
